ROKS WONSAN (MLS 560/3300 tons displacement) - a Korean Navy Wonsan-class minelayer berthed at the Royal New Zealand Navy base in Devonport, Auckland. She joins the Australian minesweepers HMAS Gascoyne and HMAS Huon and other vessels for the International Mine Countermeasures Excercise to be conducted off NZ and Australia. WONSAN was launched in 1994 and commissioned in 1998. She has a range of 4500nm, a top speed of 22knots, a complement of 160 and is armed with cannons, torpedoes and 500 mines. (source: Wikipedia). In background is the RNZN fleet tanker ENDEAVOUR and at left is the RNZN multi-role vessel HMNZS CANTERBURY. HMNZS ENDEAVOUR sailed for scrapping in India on 20 March 2018 under the name ENDEAVOUR ALOFI.
