OHANA - newly launched on 28 October 2012, the stunning 50m flybridge sloop takes to the waters of Auckland's Waitemata Harbour after having just completed stepping her 63.1m mast while alongside at Wynyard Wharf. Built by Fitzroy Yachts of New Plymouth, New Zealand for an Italian client, the vessel's transom carried the name Genoa as her port of registry. She will undergo sea trials before her delivery in December. The aluminium-hulled OHANA was designed by Dubois Naval Architects of Lymington, Hampshire, England and will carry some 4085sq m of sail, achieving a maximum speed of 18 knots with a cruising speed of around 12 knots.
OHANA will remain in Auckland for a few months during which she will take the start gun of the 2013 NZ Millennium Cup. 31 October 2012. Photo by © Seapixonline.com
