RAINBOW WARRIOR (3) [2011/855grt/IMO 9575383] the third vessel to carry the name and current flagship of the Greenpeace organisation glides serenely through the glassy waters of the Hauraki Gulf, inbound to Auckland, New Zealand where her former namesake RAINBOW WARRIOR (1) was bombed and sunk by French agents in 1985. Before making for Auckland, the new, purpose-built ship made a special pilgrimage to Matauri Bay in the far north of NZ, the final resting place of her bombed predecessor. 11 January 2013.
