SeapixOnlineDisplaying 1 of 1 MAY GIBBS is a 35m catamaran Emerald-class ferry operated on Sydney Harbour by Transdev Sydney Ferries. It had been proposed that this vessel would be named Ferry McFerryface (remember the nonsensical debacle in the UK over the naming of their polar research ship Boaty McBoatface). In Australia however, members of the Maritime Union of Australia refused to work a vessel with such a stupid name. The ferry was initially named Emerald 6 and eventually renamed May Gibbs in 2018 prior to service. Keywords: ferries, emerald class, transdev sydney, sydney, australia |
