SeapixOnlineDisplaying 1 of 4 MIRAI (1972/8687grt/IMO 6919423, ex-MUTSU) - berthed in Auckland, New Zealand, famous for its nuclear-free status, she was built as the nuclear-powered MUTSU for the Japan Nuclear Ship Development Agency. Her reactor was removed in 1995 and was renamed MIRAI before becoming part of the JAMSTEC (Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science & Technlogy) fleet.
