SeapixOnline- Scrapped vessels - 1 of 1 HMS MARLBOROUGH (F233/1989/4200 tonnes) a Royal Navy Type 23 Duke-class frigate, arriving in Auckland, NZ for a goodwill visit, direct from service during the Gulf War II invasion of Iraq. She was decommissioned in Plymouth, UK on 8 July 2005. She was handed over in Portsmouth to the Chilean Navy and commissioned as CNS ALMIRANTE CONDELL (FF06) on 28 May 2008. She is now the fourth vessel to bear that name and is the last of the former UK Type 23 Duke-class frigates to be handed to Chile. This now completes the modernisation of Chile's surface fleet.
